CORRECTIONS HIGH RISK TRANSPORTATION COUNTER
ASSAULT TEAM OPERATIONS
(CHRT/CAT-C)
Developed to train the current member of a protection detail who have a solid experience base to operate as members of the high risk transportation CAT. The training will highlight the base curriculum taught in the Corrections High Risk Transportation Course with added emphasis on the specialty areas of the HRT CAT to include marksmanship skills with the handgun, submachine-gun, carbine and shotgun, specialty weapons orientation, duties of the element member, specialty duties and activities, handling of protected personnel, movement techniques by foot and vehicle, evasive driving techniques, communications, basic lifesaving techniques, planning, ambush/counter-ambush, CQB (Tier II-IV), methods of entry (breaching) and crisis management. The course will include numerous hands on performance oriented exercises involving all the mechanics of leading and operating as a member of an HRT CAT with heavy emphasis on crisis management.
